Key word is Dividend...
or IOU for debt or profit that a company either pays out in cash or shares...
In this case Shares...
If they are then from or in relation to another public or private company they could appreciate in value. Lets say the 1.75 million for IYP was paid out in a stock dividend the original value might be .005 per share...Now if that company went up in value to let say $3. Then the dividend would be worth $3 per share, if cashed you would pay capital gains on the difference...
Question is can they be assigned in a merger or restructured into a Holding Company...If so that equity investment would effect the receiving company pps trad-able or not...imo
I'm a Crazy Scots-Irishman Blue Blood... It's probably not a good idea to listen to me...every thing I say is of my opinion. I'm not a good place to get investment advise...
