I thought the PR today was pretty good. The paragraph that interests me follows :

"Technical improvement beyond what was announced by the DSL Forum in January, 2003 is essential to the future of wireline broadband services; and New Visual has the ability to deliver that technology," said Mulder.

I'll dig around a bit to see what DSL Forum was advocating in January 2003 as referenced - but what strikes me is the fact that Mulder is acknowledging in some sense that NVEI is, or can be, in a position to exceed the DSL Forum "improvement".

I believe but can't remember precisely that the rage was ADSL and ADSL2 at the time. YMMV.
