Yes - I suspect Jim wasn't used to managing tech start-ups and therefore tended to underestimate how long things take. However, a third prototype has to be close to right (well you would think that at least) - at this stage I am mostly hoping it doesn't have a high cost of manufacture that might price it out of the market.

Jim has a lot of skin in the game too - lets hope he too is trying to be realistic!.
