E*trade, Scottstrade, CS, and a few others purchase their own shares so you are buying directly from them. TD does not which means when there is a chill your screwed and have to wait until it's lifted. E*trade all day. I switched last week and it took an hour and a half to wire my money from TD and start trading on E*trade. Good Luck!
