I have seen some really nice developments at AMD at their
X2/Opti line. The DC were stalled up till a few weeks ago
to 2,4-2,5G on air with standard voltage for most low-end
bins. So 2,6-2,7G with these settings was awesome. Now I
could see some parts, which bin 3G or slightly more 3,1G
at standard-voltage and with normal air-cooling. These
are really impressive gains, which were realized with 170.
I hope I could get a part for my own testing ...

Edit:
So its my impression, that AMD COULD launch 3G DC, when
needed at the end of Q1-2006. This is one of a list of
exciting new things, which will come in the next time - so be
prepared.
