I have not been able to look at the report yet, but I will answer your question on the weather. As I have stated I am in West Virginia surrounded by some of the mines that TX supplies. Today I have read one report that all 55 counties in the state has closed their school due to inclimate weather. We are looking at -30 degrees with the wind chill, and a possible 3-6 inches more of snow tonight. Currently we only have 3-4 inches on the ground. It has been our coldest winter in many years(my wife says its time to move to Florida).
Now about holidays, yes that does play a factor in mining. They are a community, or a family of workers. They do take their vacation time very serious. Their vacation time, is time they have with their families away from work. Remember these guys work a very dangerous job, and they all know any day they go down that shaft, they might not get to come back up alive. So family time is very important.
I also know there are some mines that will shut down their whole opperation for 2 weeks at a time. Only the security guards are working. And yes Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are very big holidays that would prevent some vendors from being able to sell.
I guess its time to stoke the fire, before the old lady gripes that its getting cold in here.
