Freep, you could be right about the VIX spike being real.

We may find out later there was a massive panic for about 1/1000th of a second, but our new Fed chairman and his buddies in the New York Fed branch reacted quickly and intervened in the markets, buying boat-loads of CSCO to mitigate the effects of this devastating panic.
