walbert, let's not play games here. Yes, of course, you can make money selling puts and writing calls on a stock that's range bound, and yes there are stocks whose puts I sell like a madman for income, particularly in the family portfolio that I manage.



Indeed, let's not play games - particularly word games like "trade" and "investment" to excuse yourself from managing your portfolio.

Your investments are your investments. You are responsible for them, not Intel. If there are obvious techniques that you can use to reliably increase your returns and you choose not to use them, then it hardly seems equitable to hold Intel accountable for your shortcomings.

No stock investment comes with a guarantee.

Management delivering is AAPL running from $10 -> $700 because its earnings skyrocketed.



As far as your statement about Apple goes, it seems that you have totally forgotten the part where Apple went from $700 back down to $390. Stocks go up and down. Your example merely proves my point. If you don't know how to manage the ups and downs and you can't take responsibility for managing that, then you don't belong in stocks.
