It cost Intel more (R&D+CapEx) to just get to 14nm without any new fabs, than it took TSMC to get to 20nm while building new fabs.



Intel is doing its second FinFET node while TSMC is still doing planar. Of course it takes more money to get to the much more sophisticated technology. And Intel already has 14nm fabs. Intel's CapEx was for building fabs. Do you ever look at what you write??? You put meaningless numbers together and make meaningless comparisons.

TSMC's spending CapEX on apples while Intel is spending on oranges.



Intel's CapEx was spent on FinFET while TSMC's was spent on planar. You are making my point about your meaningless comparisons.

None of this nonsense changes the fact that TSMC has cash flow problems while Intel doesn't.
