It is not that difficult. Project team are lead by project leader and there are other players( I call them consultant) from different field to complement every one. If Project leader can use these consultants effectively, it works most of the time



It is a lot more difficult than that to get good teams! You need someone who drives the team along, you need someone who has ideas, you need someone who is meticulous about checking for problems, you need someone who keeps things organized and writes things up, you need someone who holds the team together as a unit despite the different temperaments, you need someone who is able to interface with others to really find out what is needed, you need someone who will get resources as required, you need someone who can plan effectively, you need someone who will actually get rid of a member who is causing problems.

Unfortunately one person setting up a team will sometimes miss out some of the requirements or even just get a bunch of people who are all alike and missing a large chunk of the requirements. People are good at getting together an fixing up problems despite that, but a team that works properly is extremely valuable and it is often not really because of the person nominally in charge.
