I don't deny that applications can see a benefit when finely tuned and optimized, but if you'll recall, my original objection was against the notion that upgrading to Windows XP-64 would unleash the power of someone's Athlon 64 processor. #msg-9594079
The real story is evident from your very own links - that the current abundance of 32-bit apps will not receive any improvement from 64-bit Windows. And even those that do receive a 64-bit translation may still see performance degradations, such as the Cinebench OpenGL tests from your fourth link.
