Christie Created Wildstein's Exec-Level Position at the Port Authority UPDATED 20 Subpoenas w/Names

Give him a position at the top of the agency; he's a good friend of the governor.
That's how David Wildstein was introduced to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in 2010, according to a former employee with extensive knowledge of the agency's hiring practices.

Soon after, Wildstein was named the director of Interstate Capital Projects, a title that previously had not existed at the bi-state agency...

Wildstein's role included scrutinizing the agency's business for the governor and that's why he was given such a broad title, sources said. Those current and former employees said people were careful about what they said when Wildstein was in the room, always assuming it would get back to Christie.

So the idea that Wildstein would not be following Christie's orders becomes even more absurd. Not to mention Christie's claim during his 2 hour press conference last week that he and Wildstein were hardly even acquaintances.

The article says that before being placed by pal Christie in this high-level position at the Port Authority, Wildstein was a ::cough:: political blogger.

Update 1:

From the comments, AnnetteK has discovered that they just released the names of the 20 people and orgs that were subpoenaed today. From nj.com:

Kevin O'Dowd, Christie's pick to serve as the state's new Attorney General, is among the 17 people issued subpoenas today, according to a source close to the investigation. The source was not allowed to discuss the subpoenas and requested anonymity.
Also on the list:

• Bridget Anne Kelly, the former deputy chief of staff for the governor, who has been one of the key names in the investigation.

• Bill Stepien, Christie's two-time campaign manager.

• Charles McKenna, the governor's former chief counsel.

• Michael Drewniak, Christie's spokesman.

• Matt Mowers, a former aide to the governor.

The day after Christie's re-election, Mowers was named executive director of the New Hampshire GOP.

I will root around the interwebs and see if I can get the rest of the list. Cheers
