First lab rats, then people
Manzo hasn't tested the supplement on people yet. That's about a year or so out. First, he has to continue tests on lactose-intolerant lab rats.

A California biotechnology company he partnered with on the supplement finished the first round of testing in 2006. The results were promising: They confirmed the probiotic worked for at least three months, Manzo said.

The upcoming second round of testing will span six months and tinker with dosages. The testing also will determine if the probiotic should be in pill, powder or liquid form.
