Telefonica launches Universal Wi-Fi access service
Users simply need to download and activate the Universal Wi-Fi app to be directed to the network’s 1.3 million-plus hotspots across 110 countries, covering 90 of the world’s top 100 airports and all the major hotel chains. Agreements with companies such as iPass, DTAG and Swisscom, as well as Gogo, have served to substantially increase the number of hotspots available via the service, said Telefonica. The app also features transparent live reporting of mobile and Wi-Fi data usage, single sign-on and zero-touch connectivity, and is available for Android, iOS and Windows operating systems.
