While Denner may take an active interest in ARIAD and try to become an activist investor, the current staggered board terms combined with the poison pill, aka investor rights plan, will make it an uphill battle for him.
With respect to HB coming out swinging, Ive heard this analogy before and I don't know what it means. This makes it sound like we are in a fight, but I fail to understand who we are fighting or why the company would benefit from posturing itself in a manner that displays a combative approach. The best thing ARIAD can do now is to be strategic with its resources, open minded with respect to future partnering/financing and continue to forge ahead with its science. No need to swing at anyone.
