It wasn't paranoia, the guy actually said that he wasn't getting the return on investment that he used to, so that's why he stopped using it. Remember "2 to 1 metric" is what he said. If you understand how adwords work you would see that apparently the "price per click" has increased to the point where he's not making a "2 to 1" ROI. For the layman, other companies have bid up the "price per click"…or for you…other companies are willing to pay more for clicks for the key word "leggings" driving the price up, causing the decision to not use adwords, thus "pushing us out" of that keyword

now I will go back to my basement, chew my fingernails, turn the lights off, and peek out the window for every passing car.
