In such a scenario, I wonder what the tipping point would be?

How much could ARM jack the royalty rates up, before there would be a revolt/rallying around an alternate architecture?

Many of the Anyone But Intel crowd think that an ARM dominated landscape would be some kind of semiconductor and consumer Utopia, but I very much doubt that.
