) sank Tuesday to a fresh 52-week low, after the specialty financial-services company and parent company of Life Partners Inc. maintained its quarterly dividend rate at $0.05 per share, disappointing investors who had been hoping for an increase in the payment.
The latest dividend is to be paid on or about Jan. 3 to shareholders of record as of Dec. 30. While the per-share rate is the same as in the prior two quarters, it is half of what the company had paid in March and each of the quarters of 2012. Investors appeared to have hoped the rate would come back up in 2014.
Shares were down 7.2% at $1.55 recently near midday Tuesday, after hitting a new 52-week low of $1.52, its lowest level since September 2012.
What's to say? Today was a good example, of what's to come....
