NVidia who actually makes the Tegra 4 chip that is the current GPU for the NP-1 is 100% compatible with the new HEVC/h.265 codec. The chip was designed to decode the new HEVC. I also asked him to send me some documents via email stating this as fact so I can show the board the proof. He said by the end of the day I will receive the documentation as fact.
Also I'm limited to 1 post a day so respond as you will, I have the PROOF of your false information and will be posting the email I receive from nVidia itself that Infact the nVidia Tegra 4 WILL BE ABLE TO DECODE AND PLAYBACK THE NEW HEVC/h.265 codec being implemented later this year.
Now the tech did state that the Tegra 4 is not able to convert material which is being streamed in h.264 to HEVC/h.265 and vice versa. But the NP-1 isn't designed to do conversions. The NP-1 is designed to decode and play material being streamed already coded in either format so that drawback is irrelevant. But and I quote "the tegra 4 will 100% be able to decode and playback the new HEVC/h.265 codec, when it becomes publicly available."
