My wife is a teacher and I signed her school up for the program. It costs Crayola $35.32 to FedEx a 20 lb box of markers from Ohio to Niagra Falls which is only about a 7 hour drive away so I'm sure it is much more shipping them from CA. This means that Crayola pays about $1.75/lb to recycle our OH markers. I'm sure Crayola could pay for a P2O processor with what they will eventually spend on the Color Cycle program. Do you think that they are doing that out of the goodness of their hearts? NO WAY! It is all about marketing and improving their image just like I mentioned in my last post. Crayola may not own a processor, but they have no problem spending millions over the next few years shipping markers to JBI in the name of "green" and keeping the recycling advocates and special interest groups off their backs! Do you really think that a processor would have to make a company money off of fuel production alone in order for them to purchase one? There are much more important ways (to the companies) to make money off of P2O than just fuel production...Crayola is proof of that!!
