Numerous direct competitors were offering huge discounts (up to 70% off at alljane.com for instance) during this period tells me that management made the right decision to hold off on wastefully airing the commercials during a time when the market was clearly saturated with discounts and the sales being fought over at a fraction of the per unit profit. Yet again a smart business move. Instead many here suggest that this is a major failure by mgmt when their suggestions would likely have proved financially disastrous by comparison.
