Google's VP9 is a very good news for Clipstream.
From Steve:
This is good news for us. The dominant format is H.264 which is only around 62%. Google is pushing Web M which is around 55%.

This is the new version of Web M, so Google will be taking market share away from H.264.

What it means is that the market is completely fragmented and that our single solution saves transcoding costs.

Google is a big believe in Javascript and our Javascript player fits perfectly into their model. They aren't looking to get rich off of their video format - they are just wishing something cross platform existed.

There is no limit to how high we can go and we can go to 4 K. We are already at 960, which is way higher than most formats. The only problem is that the higher quality requires more CPU and bandwidth and older devices won't support it. On the other hand, the new Spring network is going to support bandwidths of 15 times what we need for our HD quality.
