With the recent news and especially the recent Seeking Alpha interview with Chuck Provini, I get the impression NatCore is de-emphasizing the efficiency gains of their black silicon and selective emitter. Supposedly cells manufactured with these two technologies will have the very same 18% that conventional solar cells now have. Now I am glad to see the greatly reduced lower cost of 23.5% which might be even greater with their new laser tech, but shouldn't the efficiency still be higher -- perhaps 19%? Or is the nominal efficiency still 18%, yet solar cell performance would improve in the morning and late afternoon due to black silicon which improves performance when the sun hits the cells at low angles rather than close to perpendicular angles?
I am hoping someone with more expertise than I can answer this question. Like many of you I have invested a fair amount in Natcore.
Best of luck to all
