Does that mean crops can't grow in the open field?
Please pardon the joshing but I had wondered if you previously studied the cost of moving the platforms vs. cost of lighting.
In Alaska despite its short growing season in northern areas, some produce grows very large with the long days in summer as opposed to lengthy periods with little or no sunlight.
Are there any studies you know of that indicate what crops grow best with extended periods of light? I would assume there is great variation as with some flowers that only grow well in shady areas.
