Sony does not stream. A real market comparison of Sonys media players competition is the VHS, DVD and Blue ray players. These are all playback devices, just as the Sony player.

There is no equitable way to compare the Sony player to the NP-1. They are two different devices. The NP-1 is a state of the art streaming 4k set top box and the Sony player is a playback device.
