Well it took us from about 1800 to about 1927 to go from 1 billion to 2 billion (about 123+ years). It took us about another 33 years to add another billion at 1960. It took about 14 years to add another billion by 1974 (now at 4 billion). It took another 13 years to get another billion to 5 billion (1987). It took just 12 more years to get to 6 billion in 1999. And it took about 13 years to add another 1 billion in 2012 and now we are heading toward 8 billion which should arrive by 2025. I don't see the population going into decline but constantly adding more than is dying off. I also see that famine will arrive as it has throughout our history. The oceans fish stocks cannot support these increases in population. I don't see our population declining unless governments make an effort to do so by forcing lower birth rates.
