During this holiday season, as you gather with family and friends, don't forget those less fortunate as we transition to the New Year. In the image of Him who gave so much, remember to give more than the material gifts of Christmas.

There are so many ways to give of one's self during the next two weeks and the rest of the year. Your local veterans hospital, a nearby Shriners children's center, a geriatric and terminal care facility, a soup kitchen are only a few places that could benefit from a few hours of your time. And, if you are fed up with people, take a break from the shopping throngs and see what you can do for your local humane society. There are so many in need of companionship, comfort; just your simple presence can be enough to brighten the day of just one. Just one person showing someone cares can be enough.
