There is no way Grewal will get out of this when it finally gets to a jury.

From the complaint filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court:

A contract was entered into between Plaintiff and Defendant Grewal Inc. dba Santa Clarita Surgery Center for Advanced Pain Management on November 15, 2000. Under the terms of the agreement, Defendants agreed not to compete, use Plaintiff’s trade secrets and confidential information for its own financial gain, lure away Plaintiff’s employees, or defame Plaintiff.

I’ve seen the agreement signed by Grewal himself. He violated it pretty clearly. If starting a new billing company and luring away and signing PPJE clients wasn’t enough, he even hired a couple PPJE employees! No shame.

Trial starts next month; PPJE expects a $5-$7 million settlement.
