(OTC Bulletin Board: IDIG) today clarified that its wholly owned subsidiary Pilot Island Publishing, Inc. has entered into an agreement to expand the development of e-Connect, Inc.’s (OTC Bulletin Board: ECNC) PocketPay™ system. PocketPay™ is the exclusive patent and trademark of e-Connect of San Pedro, California. PocketPay™ will allow users of handheld computers with wireless network connection to make “same as cash” transactions electronically.
Pilot Island Publishing has been a developer for Palm Computing, Inc.’s (formerly 3COM) line of PalmPilot™ handheld computers since 1997. Pilot Island is developing the PocketPay system under Palm Computing, Inc.’s license agreement, which is posted at www.palm.net/apps/developer/licenseagreement . PocketPay will securely transmit its financial data, using proprietary elliptic curve encryption, through Palm Computing, Inc.’s Web-Clipping™ proxy servers. Pilot Island expects to begin testing of the PocketPay system in the 3rd quarter of 2000. Rollout is subject to final approval of the code by Palm Computing, Inc. Profits on the PocketPay system are generated through individual transaction fees. The agreement provides for an even spilt of profits after raw cost of development.
