TA doesn't work for a stock like Ariad, imho.

For purposes of my comment on TA I will define success (work) as being able to produce a higher than market return over the long term (say 10 years) without resort to FA.

TA does not work.

For those who may think I have not had exposure to TA, that is not true. I have read some TA books. I have invested for over 45 years. I have had friends that got into TA. (A couple lost their life savings. They were smart guys.) I have repeatedly told TA guys that when they figure out a system that works to tell me. They never do. I have also spoken at meetings of TA guys and told the other side. I came out alive.
