Hippo, I feel we have a VERY unusual situation here.
The owner managed 50 million = relatively not too much,
but a great chunk in terms of responsibility !
Furthermore, he understands hedging/finance
he is no idiot (as are most of the Pink Co's owners are ) and
DEFINITELY knows how a Corporation/Share structure works.
The insider ownership, the preffered and the amount of the current A/S, O/S and the float
is perfect to build a real Holding Company from scratch ( a Pink issue ).

If the guy IS indeed for real, (which so far seems to be so ! ) then
This could turn out to be an AMAZING long term hold !!!!!!
