Slight correction. The army WANTS to use JP-8 for everything. Up until now the valve wear from JP-8 would not allow them to use it on vehicles other than aircraft...like deisels.

AFTC was awarded Phase I and Phase II SBIR awards to R & D the problem and fix it.

That now will allow the army to use JP-8 on all vehicles.. The One-fuel-forward Department of Defense mandate that is many years old and they can now do it. Thats my read.
