SSK: 4 Decimal places.
"I would use 4 decimals with the shares, and if we did that you brought 1,139.7059 shares of EZEN.ob."
I just simply could NOT control myself. I had to post this.
EZEN is $2.72. Using 1,139.7059 shares does, in fact, equal $3,100. If you make a fiscally scary compromise and dare to only go to 3 decimal places, it will result in a total price of $3,100.0003 (or 3/100ths off a cent off.
Now, if you get sloppy and only go to 2 decimal places, you will get $3,100.01 (or 1 cent off).
If you get REALLY sloppy and only go to 1 decimal place, you will get $3,099.98 (or 2 cents off).
Finally, if you are just pathetically lax and completely dismissive of perfection and lop all 4 decimal places off and just go with 1,139 shares (like me), you will end up with $3,098.08 (a whopping $1.92 off).
I realize the computer couldn't care less if it is zero decimal places or 20 decimal places. But, just for simplicity purposes, nobody can go too wrong with just using whole numbers for their own purposes and it is highly doubtful if any positions would change as a result of it.
