His former MD in New Jersey helped supply him with prescriptions, but turned against him as a witness for the prosecution.

During the story, the question came up if doctors would be more reluctant, (and be afraid to be prosecuted) to write painkiller prescriptions with all the monitoring going on.
The answer was: absolutely.
Message to ME was: Count on resistance to VPS from the Medical community. They have a powerful and wellfunded lobby too, so dont expect a law to pass that forces MD's to comply.
