It all depends on the visibility you have into the MMs. You may not be seeing what I am seeing because you don't have Level III visibility. If you did, you would see the lineup of MMs on levels above/below the bid/ask. Based on this, you can get a fairly good indicator of resistance, even if the stock has not yet traded at a particular level.
