He is simply saying that you need someone to have interest to purchase it from you at all. If nobody wanted the stock you couldn't sell it no matter how low you were willing to part with it. Even if this stock is being sold for as low as it possibly could, for every person who is willing to part with their shares, there has to be someone to purchase them. Or else they will never be sold.
