Its only function is to serve as a short term diversionary smokescreen while possibly unsavory parts of an agenda are quietly prosecuted...as your compatriots continually demonstrate so well.
As written, Article V can only work as intended when deliberation isn't a result of stonewalling but due to an information poor environment. Today's universal access to instant information pretty much obviates the long term shenanigans Konservative Konstitutional Kabuki would require to actually accomplish anything. Therefore, any discussion of a Constitutional Convention is nothing more than a feeble attempt at off-year electioneering by a bunch of losers willing to go to any length to get attention.
