“INTC made $.40 and AMD mad $.45, on an apples to apple basis”

Apples to apples? According to AMD's pro forma profit and loss statement Net Income includes a tax benefit $1275 million with no provision for a normal amount income tax. I hope you don’t think that AMD can continue to make $249 million without paying income tax like everyone else. Intel paid a little over a billion dollars in income tax about 29% of profit before the provision for income tax.

Secondly I don’t know how AMD claims earnings of 45 cents per share based on their pro-forma statement when they show a net profit of $205,269 and 473,709 outstanding shares which according to my calculator is 43 cents.
