Steve yes keep it as simple and as free as possible.. for intraday charting i use Ameritrade Apex and stockcharts.com mainly for charts and scans..

stockwatch.com i like to get the 90 day trade history and often times just for a different chart view.
..with the bar charts it seems to be easier to see or annotate the trendlines especially when one's under heavy consolidation and beganing to coil...

btw.. stockcharts.com is good about adding a chart if it's not available when you type in the symbol it in with just a simple feedback sugestion/compliment request.

and ofcourse BigCharts.com and pinksheets.com for the odd ones not easliy found.
