Kinkade died in 2012, and he had a stable-of-"assistants" which primarily re-touched his reproductions…..yes thats right…Kinkade painted a painting, had 1000's of that painting REPRODUCED, and had the "assistants" retouch them

he WAS the Henry Ford of mediocre art…not a badge of honor in the art world…then he became the most COUNTERFEITED artist EVER

so because of his reproduction assembly line, he sold more canvasses, but they aren't worth even a tenth of what they were sold for in the years 1985-2000…..from 2000-2012, hardly a gallery survived that had predominately carried his paintings

He was a Christian based faith sympathizer who used that religious mantra to sell thousands to "believers" …………..unfortunately the last decade of his life saw him take a mistress and have his wife divorce him after documented, public alcoholic rages and physical abuse…….he died in his prime, without his children around, and without his faith that made him so prolific

his brother sells the only Kinkade certified art over the TV auctions sites, the rest is questionable inventory from years of surplus distributor purchasing when Kinkade's appeal collapsed after his infidelity and untimely death
