Politicians as ranchers - interesting, I think it would go something like this:

The Cheneys have 2 cows. They sell 3 cows to their publicly traded company using letters of credit from a political donor at the bank then execute a debt/equity swap with an associated general offer so they get all 4 cows back with a tax exemption for 5 cows. The tax exemption was enacted with the support of their lobbyists. Then they transfer the beef futures from 6 cows via an intermediary to a Cayman Island Company secretly owned by the majority shareholder (also a political supporter) who sells 7 cows back to their publicly traded company. The annual report says the company owns 8 cows with an option on 1 more.

Yep, that's it, politicians creating wealth. And, inside the beltway this would all make perfect sense on both sides of the aisle. Not-so-much in Wyoming though. We'll see how the voting goes.
