I agree with this post to some extent. If Intel reaches and/or exceeds performance parity, then I don't see AMD increasing share much in those areas. Which basically leaves greater than 2 socket servers.

They still will have a big lead with respect to price performance. Processors of equivalent performance are likely to be be cheaper, and the chipsets are also cheaper. Factor in that the motherboards themselves are cheaper to build, and it is a win for the OEM. The P4-based toaster ovens will still have a disadvantage as far as power supply and cooling until they finally shuffle off this mortal coil, and that will be well into 2007 at the earliest.
