You are correct. A private placement is different than a buy or sell within the market. Private placement means dilution compared to a market trade. In this case, the private placement created a large sell off and lowered the trust many investors had in management. I understand the reasoning behind this particular transaction. The CEO told me that the company would not be around without it. It doesn't make my butt hurt any less though. The fact is there are over 20% more shares either available now or available soon for sell. Neither you or I can presume what they will do with those shares. I don't care about the short term moves in share price. I like the company. I like what they are doing to shore up the fiscal and managerial side of things. I like the relationships they are making. Your suggestion regarding a group or single investor buying 120 million shares seems ridiculous and would be about 6 times the highest volume ever traded here and well above the average volume. It also is ridiculous to compare a market trade to a private placement as the share structure changes in one instance and does not change otherwise. I don't think the dooms day folks are helpful but the constant rah rah and hearing people say they are taking out loans to buy a penny stock scares the crap out of me. I'm here as long as the story is in tact. If management can maneuver this boat out of the harbor, I beleive only great things are in the future.
