Jim Jarmusch used to be my favorite director. He's lost something but he's still good. One of my favorite movies of all time is Stanger Than Paradise, one of his earlier films. I also LOVED Dead Man and Mystery Train and liked Down by Law (though I despise Benigni with a passion), Night on Earth and Ghost Dog okay. Coffee and Cigarettes is about the worst piece of garbage I've ever seen in my life and I'll stop there.

Anyway, Murray's act is also wearing thin. He did the same shtick he did in Lost in Translation (which I LOVED). However, I will give this movie a 3.5 out of 5 simply because I also like slow movies. I could gripe but since it held my attention and wasn't common, I enjoyed it more than most. Jarmusch is falling into this overly kitschy, lots of coincidences, heavy handed rut. It's starting to lack imagination and relies too much on the quirkiness of it all - and quirkiness for its own sake is not enough for me. I would like to see a fresh, really insired movie by him. I know he still has it in him. Loved the soundtrack, btw.
