ok, thanks, but he has to get the shares somewhere, right, so who's giving him shares at bargain prices, that's the thing I don't fully understand.

"just a counterparty who believes the price will rise and therefore doesn't mind permitting his shares to be sold at today's bargain price."

so if the counterparty thinks the price will rise, why would he sell them at a bargain? shouldn't a squeeze be happening about now, instead?
