Maybe Berge and the wholesaler are thinking about next Christmas.... They can sell out his current inventory now, and then plan for a massive distribution for next year.

It's a win-win. Berge gets cash and exposure and the distributor keeps it exclusive. Then they have a year to build up inventory for NEXT Christmas.
