A Note on My Navajo Piece

I did not mean to imply that the piece I left a link to was extremely old Navajo. In fact, the Navajo artisans are the Tellers. To my knowledge, they are still very much alive and active.

The Tellers are Navajo, and I understand they are Christian missionaries to their people. The "De Chelly" mark refers to Canyon De Chelly which I understand is part of the Navajo nation. Also, I understand the mark is well attributed to the Tellers.

It is clearly sterling and not coin like earlier pieces would be. This said, it is Navajo.
