I see. I am still curious to know if the hypothesized plug in device up converts to the same quality of a 4k studios converted film. I wouldn't think it would from what I understand on the conversion process utilizing the Lasergraphics Director scanners.

BUT! What if I wanted to watch tv from my cable/sat. box on a 4k tv? The Seiki's don't up convert on their own or do they?

It's all about giving the consumer the option that fits what they are looking for. If someone wants the high end, that's what they'll buy. If they can't afford that option and NTEK doesn't provide a lower end option they'll find another company that does. Capitalism 101.
