O.T. I'm not in the know as to how anybody shorts a penny stock. I know that my full service broker won't do it and I can't do it with Ameritrade. But, based on what I read, it does happen. Anyway, I can tell you that with a non-penny stock if you short it, you can hold onto that short position as long as you can afford it. If you end up in the red, you are asked to cover. At that point you can either close your position or fork over some more money (if you think it will still go down). My guess is that pinks work the same. ? But do not know for a fact.
