Sunday Phoenix race weekend concludes with another boring finish in front of empty stands and a boring and largely lifeless Jimmy Johnson season win likely in Homestead. The race "highlight" was someone running out of gas on the white flag lap. Whoop-de-doo!

Matt Kenseth's disappointing finish dooms another "chase" to being more of a polka than a sporting contest. The Nationwide title actually has more drama than the Nextel Cup... yet the title sponsor is bailing out for next season.

I love this sport, but the ISCA team is asleep at the wheel while their sport is going into hospice care. Sad. Sad. Sad. Another year or two at the present pace and we'll be watching The Daytona 500 on Scify network along with professional wrestling.
